Most times Royal Caribbean provides a towel station on the dock for guests as they exit the ship, but you can alternatively pick up towels to use on the pool deck. Once off the ship, you will walk down the dock towards land and pass through the Labadee entrance area, which is your gateway to what Labadee offers.

Best Things To Do In Labadee Haiti Cruise Port Guide
For a romantic escape or to enjoy some quality time with family and friends, rent a private beach bungalow or luxury cabana for the day. Prices range from $263 for a beach bungalow for 8 guests up to an over-the-water cabana at Nellie’s Beach for $579. At the end of the pier/walkway, one of the first things you’ll see is the Trading Post. There’s a desk where you can book tours, rides and experiences if you have not already done so. This is also the place to enjoy a little shopping and help support the local economy. Similar to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean offers a variety of excursions for guests to book in Labadee.
What’s the Weather Like in Labadee, Haiti?
We have all you need to know about this popular cruise destination so you can be prepared when you visit this beautiful port of call. There is no shade on this beach other than what is provided from the cabanas. For a luxury experience, you can't get any better than one of the overwater cabanas located either on Barefoot Beach (ideal because of the quieter, exclusive environs) or Nellie's Beach.
The food is the same in all three restaurants and is prepared onboard a cruise ship. There are a few things you will want to bring to Labadee that you not otherwise consider. You will want these because the paved walkways and even that white sand can get hot, plus in the water there are plenty of rocks that could be stepped on. Second, bring a camera (a waterproof camera would be ideal) because there is a lot to see and do on Labadee and you will want to remember it all. With decent underwater cameras costing less than $100, it is worth it to have one so that you can take photos in and out of the water. Plus, you will likely be able to use it on other port stops during your cruise.
In an announcement last week, Royal Caribbean temporarily suspended visits to Labadee, Haiti for its entire fleet. The decision was made “out of an abundance of caution” due to the evolving situation in Haiti. Matt started Royal Caribbean Blog in 2010 as a place to share his passion for all things Royal Caribbean with readers.

After a little bit of time on Labadee, you will grow accustomed to the waiters walking around with a tray full of Labadoozies offering to sell you one. You can have them with or without rum, but for the adults that opt to have rum, their beach day is sure to improve immediately. Adjacent to Barefoot Beach is Nellie's Beach, which looks very similar to Barefoot Beach but is open to all guests. About a 10 minute walk from the dock, Nellie's Beach features another cove-type beach, with rocks on both sides that enclose the area. Many guests looking for an alternative to Adrenaline Beach end up at Nellie's Beach because it is still close to the dock area and quite pleasant looking. Royal Caribbean provides tram service to get around Labadee, but it is optional and we find walking to be quite manageable.
All the food and drink is prepared onboard your cruise ship and then transported ashore. Labadee is a haven for all types of watersports including kayaking, snorkeling, parasailing over the bay, paddleboarding or just relax on a floating mat. Labadee, Haiti is privately owned and the only way to visit is by booking a cruise with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity or Azamara cruise ships that include Labadee in their itinerary. In 2019, 160 cruise ships spent a day at Labadee with 720,000 passengers (and crew) enjoying the resort facilities.
The tram is nice to hop on if it is convenient, but by no means necessary. Plus, Labadee has a lot of natural beauty to behold and walking around will give you a good sense of the layout of the beaches as well as an appreciation for the natural wonders. Columbus Cove is great for swimming and water activities like kayaking and snorkeling.
Read on for our breakdown of Labadee vs. CocoCay, so you know exactly what to expect on your cruise. It is the remotest beach in Labadee, and it takes a minute walk to reach it on foot. Here you can sign up for activities such as the Arawak Aqua Park, waterslide, and kayaking. You might also want to consider bringing your own set of snorkels or water toys. Both can be rented from Royal Caribbean, although guests cannot go to Labadee and rent snorkeling gear on the island directly. Rather, guests can get snorkeling gear via any of the snorkeling excursions.
You should also be aware drinks served in souvenir cups and/or fruits (i.e. pineapples) are not included with the drink package, although you can get a discount on them. In addition, there is an artisan market you can browse, along with crafts available to purchase at different spots. The Haitians working there cannot take your SeaPass card, so bring a few dollars with you rather than having to trek back to the ship to get some later. If you end up booking a tour or rent snorkel equipment, you will need it for that too.
If you're seeking a lower-cost alternative to the pricier cabanas on the other beaches, check out the beach bed-style cabanas on Adrenaline Beach, located on the northern side of Labadee. These are cushioned four-poster beds with drapes that billow in the breeze (and provide a bit of shade from the sun overhead). This snorkeling tour will take you to the open sea and stop at two beautiful snorkeling locations where you get to explore the fascinating Haitian underwater sea life. I haven’t done it, but I had dozens of guests coming to provide me with great feedback on a tour. If you decide to spend a beach day, you can upgrade to one of the beach beds and cabanas for an ultimate stay in Labadee (Haiti). The aqua park is located at Columbus Cove and is an activity designed for kids.
Up until today, scheduled visits to Labadee have been routinely cancelled and replaced with visits to other ports. When Haiti was struck by an earthquake in 2010, Royal Caribbean announced at the time that it would continue operations in the port. Royal Caribbean also planned to help fund relief efforts in the country from the earthquake damage. Many of Royal Caribbean’s ships have Labadee, Haiti as a scheduled port of call in the coming weeks and months.
